Mobile Elevating Work Platform (Scissor)

Outcome of attending training

  • Operators of Mobile Elevator Work Platforms (scissors) will be able to identify the basic construction, purpose and function of components and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges.
  • Identify and comply with manufacturers' instructions in accordance with the operator's handbook, other information sources and applicable legislation.
  • Explain all relevant documentation.
  • Explain all displayed information on the machine.
  • Carry out pre-use and running checks.
  • Carry out emergency lowering procedures.
  • Operate controls from ground level and from within the working platform.
  • Manoeuvre the MEWP involving tight turns and limited access, using both forward and reverse motions.
  • Position the platform up to maximum working height.
  • Keep within safe working parameters.
  • Place the machine in and out of service condition.
  • Be able to explain the loading and unloading procedure on and off a transporter.

Achievement

On successful completion of the Assessment and H&S Touch Screen Test, your details will be registered with CITB for approval. After approximately 28 days we will then be able to issue you with your CPCS Trained Operator Card.

Novice Price Per Person: £495

EWA 1 Day Assessment Price Per Person: £250

CITB Fees: CITB fees of £122.50 (VAT Exempt), which includes £27.50 for H&S Touch Screen Test.
